Central High School Celebrates Homecoming with Jungle-Themed Spirit Week, Parade and Community Pep Rally

Central High School was wild about Homecoming this week as the Bobcats celebrated with jungle-themed spirit days, campus decorating contests and the annual Homecoming Parade — all leading up to tonight’s Homecoming game against Abilene Cooper at San Angelo Stadium.

Throughout the week, students and staff showed their school spirit with building and door decorating contests and jungle-inspired dress-up days, including:

  • Tuesday: Blend into the Jungle: Camo Day
  • Wednesday: Wild Tourist Wednesday: Tacky Tourist Day
  • Thursday: Walk on the Wild Side: Animal Print Day
  • Friday: Wild about the Bobcats: Wear Blue & Orange

Homecoming festivities continued Thursday evening as Bobcat pride filled the San Angelo Stadium parking lot during the annual Homecoming Parade. Central students and staff were joined by students and staff from elementary and middle schools in the CHS feeder pattern, with participants embracing the jungle theme as they paraded past cheering attendees.

A community pep rally was scheduled to follow the parade at San Angelo Stadium, but was canceled due to lightning in the area. The pep rally was set to include performances by the Mighty Bobcat Band, Central cheerleaders and Tex-Anns, along with the introduction of the 2026 Central High School Homecoming Court and crowning of the Homecoming King.

Bobcat alumni and community members are invited to join students, families and staff Friday night as Central takes on Abilene Cooper at San Angelo Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Fans unable to attend can watch the game live through Central’s official streaming partner, Concho Sports Network, at ConchoSports.com or listen on KIXY 94.7 FM.
